Vigil & Action

  • When: Thursday, March 14, 3:00pm-4:30pm

  • Where: 82 Smith Street, Providence, RI 02903

  • A Vigil for Willie Washington Jr. and the many others who have died due to neglect at the ACI will be held at the RI Statehouse. Please come show support for Willie Washington Jr., his family, and the many others that have died due to medical neglect and solitary confinement abuses.

  • Join the Stop Torture Coalition, Direct Action for Rights and Equality, OpenDoors, BLM RI, and Providence NAACP to call for an oversight commission at the RI prison.

  • They will meet outside the statehouse on the Smith Street side. After the vigil they will enter the statehouse to talk to legislators. If you arrive late, please proceed into the statehouse. This requires filing in one at a time through a metal detector and past state police. The event will finish by 4:30pm.

Family March
