Alert: Dance Party Protest
IndivisibleRI: PULL TOGETHER: A Celebration of Local Music and Community Power
Where: Waterplace Park, Memorial Boulevard, Providence, RI 02903
When: Friday, April 25, 5:00pm-9:00pm
From the post:
Spring is here; it’s time to dance against dictators and boogie against billionaires!!
Celebration, music, dance, and community aid are pillars within the resistance to fascism and oppression.
We are reminded of this quote from Dan Savage: “During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night. The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for. It didn’t look like we were going to win then and we did. It doesn’t feel like we’re going to win now but we could. Keep fighting, keep dancing.”
Come join us as we celebrate with music and an opportunity to sign up for as many of the community aid organizations as you want. Each of the orgs will have representation, clipboards, opportunities to register to help them out, receive help, and just generally build community.
Building community is how we are going to get through this.

Once again, we do not suggest registering for any protests in advance, but this does look like fun, so go be gatecrashers!
